Elastomer

An elastomer is a polymer that has viscoelasticity (i.e., both viscosity and elasticity) and weak intermolecular forces, generally low Young’s modulus and high elongation at break compared to other materials. The term, a case of resilient polymer, is often used interchangeably with rubber, although the latter is preferred when referring to vulcanizates.
